![]() I realize it’s a bit much… Considering you can buy things past security and take them on the plane. Security at GDL will not let you on a plane with any hard object that could be a weapon if you try to bring it through security, that’s true. And generally GDL is pleasant as airports go. I have been through GDL more than any other airport in the world except my home at JAX I’m a US citizen but I travel to GDL every three weeks for the past 4 1/2 years. I read a couple reviews here that are not fair. It will hurt their own in the long run!Īs it was, the sink arrived marked fragile, wrapped in additional bubble wrap I paid for at the airport kiosk….smashed in 50pcs.ĭO NOT CARRY ON ANY CLAY ITEMS AS AIRLINES DIRECT. Mexico is known for its beautiful artisans ESPECIALLY in clay. ![]() So the risk in my sink is that I’d bludgeon someone with it when it would be so much quicker to break one of these glass bottles and go after someone? I can see how people might think them corrupt. Mind was blown when I realized I could buy and carry up to 3 large glass bottles of liquor onto the plane! I bought a mineral water in a large glass bottle too. Then walked back to security to get to my gate. I refused to give it up and ran it back to check on. A military guard showed up and again was standing g ground that it was dangerous. ![]() A Mexican gentlemen next to me, was kind enough to try and help. They pulled a small clay bowl out of trash to show me others they deemed dangerous. Once in security, was told no because I could bludgeon someone with it. I had a receipt from artisan and was professionally packed. Most recent trip, I was returning with a beautiful handmade vessel sink. I have to agree with previous poster on security though.
